Acne is a chronic disease that occurs mostly on the face, neck, shoulders, chest and back. It is common in adolescents but may persist into adulthood. How to tame it with homemade face masks? Allow turmeric and banana!
It’s no secret that oily skin requires more consistent care than dry skin. If you suffer from acne, clean your skin regularly with water and a non-drying soap. However, avoid aggressive scrubbing as this can lead to inflammation. Use only a fragrance-free moisturizer – non-comedogenic. At the same time, drink a lot of water, because water flushes out toxins from the body. For acne-prone skin, apply a homemade face mask once or twice a week (1).
Turmeric mask
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antioxidant properties. For face mask, make a paste of ½ cup chickpea flour, 2 teaspoons turmeric powder and water. Apply to the skin, leave for 5 minutes and wash with cold water. Turmeric can treat and prevent acne and scars.
Cucumber face mask
Cucumber has a soothing effect on the skin, reduces inflammation, irritation and pain. So grate a small cucumber and mix it into a cup of oatmeal. Apply the mask to the affected area, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash it off.
Honey mask
Honey has antibacterial properties applied to inflamed acne, wounds and burns. Apply the liquid gold directly to the pimples with a cotton swab, let the honey dry and then wash it off with warm water.
Yogurt mask for oily skin
Yogurt is a probiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria. To prepare a mask, mix 1 teaspoon of yeast with a little plain yogurt. Apply it on the skin, leave it for 15-20 minutes and then wash off the mask with cold water.
Egg white mask
Egg white is among the ingredients that destroy acne-causing bacteria. (This is due to its high lysozyme content.) Egg whites also have astringent properties that help remove dirt, grime, and excess oil. Beat the egg white, mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. Leave on the skin for 15 minutes.
Banana-lemon mask
Exfoliation is one of the most amazing benefits of bananas. It ensures that the skin gets rid of dead cells and even removes unwanted sebum. Mix a half-ripe banana with 2-3 drops of lemon juice. Make a consistent paste. (If you feel the paste is too dry, adjust with a few drops of water.) Apply this smooth paste on your face, leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash it off with water.
