Last year, Humpolec was the best city for doing business in Visočina. After a two-year hiatus, the city has returned to the forefront of comparative research in this region. Jihlava took second place, Velké Meziříčí was third. The results were announced in Jihlava at today’s regional meeting of the Community of Cities and Municipalities of the Czech Republic.
Humpolec, a multiple winner of earlier rounds of the “City for Business” comparative research, was rated as the second best place for doing business on the plateau in 2020 and 2021. Last year, according to research, Humpolec offered the best business environment and access to public administration.
According to estimators, the city near the D1 highway has, for example, the largest number of enterprises with more than 250 employees in relation to the total number of economic entities and the most charging stations for electric cars, taking into account the number of enterprises. . There are more apartments in the city. In a regional comparison, the city hall has an above-average share of capital expenditures in total revenues, and at the same time low debt servicing costs. Humpolec had the best result on the electronic communication test, which checks trading authority through fictitious business questions.
“Humpolec is truly one of the best cities in the whole Czech Republic to do business in. This is due to the city’s good economy, proximity to the highway and a first-class road from south to north, a hard-working population capable of working. low wages, yet very low unemployment.” said mayor Alena Štěrbová (ANO). She added that the city has other business premises near the D1, and she would like to discuss the possibility of building another exit to the highway. “The service area is very close to the highway and it makes no sense to build another ring road,” she stated.
According to the research, Jihlava has the best website from an entrepreneur’s point of view. Among the cities in the region, Velké Meziříčí has the lowest age index, i.e. the lowest proportion of people over 65 years old compared to children under 14 years old.
For the 16th year, comparative research has been monitoring the entrepreneurial potential of cities and municipalities in the Czech Republic. Analytical agency Datank evaluates all 205 cities and municipalities with extended jurisdiction and 22 urban districts of Prague from the point of view of business environment and public administration approach.
The winner of the regional round in Vysočina for 2021 was Světlá nad Sázavou, a year earlier he won Žďár nad Sázavou.
