Tax return 2023: What not to forget until April 3?

The deadline for submitting the so-called paper personal income tax return this year is Monday, April 3, 2023. The basic option used by many taxpayers is to submit a completed form at the office of the competent tax authority. The location of the branch varies depending on the taxpayer’s residence.

For those who leave this obligation to the last minute, it is sufficient that it has a Monday stamp when sent by regular mail. In addition, the Financial Administration extended its working hours before the legal deadline for submitting reports. “The work of the office offices of the territorial workplaces will be provided outside normal working hours from March 27 to April 3, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,” of the state Jan Ronovský, Deputy Director General of the Financial Administration.

Taxpayers have the possibility to reduce their final tax liability, the so-called tax benefits. Among the most common discounts that are applied as part of the tax return are the discount for taxpayers, the discount for the spouse, the student discount, the disability discount and the tax discount for children.

The good news is that if you miss the deadline of April 3, 2023, you can take advantage of the deadline for electronically filed tax returns, which is one month longer. The deadline for submitting electronic applications is Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
